In the twelfth episode of Schitt's Creek's second season, titled "Lawn Signs," tensions run high in the small town as the upcoming election approaches. Johnny Rose (played by Eugene Levy) is running for town council against his arch-nemesis, Bob Currie (played by John Hemphill).

Meanwhile, David Rose (played by Dan Levy) is facing a personal crisis when he discovers a local business is selling products that are almost identical to his own. In an effort to protect his brand, David confronts the owner, only to find out that the two businesses have a lot more in common than he originally thought.

As the day of the election draws closer, emotions come to a boiling point, and the town is overrun with political lawn signs. With both candidates fighting for every vote, tensions rise between Johnny and Bob, leading to a series of comically awkward encounters.

Throughout the episode, we also see the budding romance between Ted (played by Dustin Milligan) and Alexis (played by Annie Murphy) continue to progress. Despite Teddy being her ex-fiancé's business partner, Alexis can't deny the attraction she feels towards him.
