SCB: Stevenson vs. Fonfara I was a highly-anticipated boxing match that aired on SHOWTIME on June 3, 2017. The event took place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada, and featured a title bout between Adonis Stevenson and Andrzej Fonfara. The fight was a rematch of their first meeting in 2014, where Stevenson emerged victorious by way of a unanimous decision.

Leading up to the fight, Stevenson was the reigning WBC light heavyweight champion, having defended his title successfully in five consecutive fights. Fonfara, on the other hand, was coming off of a unanimous decision win over Chad Dawson in March of 2017. The bout was expected to be a highly competitive fight, with both fighters possessing respective strengths that made them dangerous opponents for each other.

Stevenson was known for his power and knockout ability, having knocked out 23 of his previous 28 opponents. He had a tremendous left hand and was confident in his ability to knock Fonfara out once again. Fonfara, however, was seen as the more technically sound fighter, with superior footwork and boxing acumen. He possessed a good jab and was able to move well around the ring, which would make it difficult for Stevenson to land his power shots.

The first few rounds of the fight were highly competitive, with both fighters trying to establish their respective styles. Fonfara came out aggressive, landing a few good shots early on in the fight. Stevenson, however, was able to weather the storm and landed a few good punches of his own in the second round. He also appeared to be the more physically imposing fighter, with a significant size advantage over Fonfara.

In the fourth round, Stevenson caught Fonfara with a powerful left hand that sent him reeling backwards onto the ropes. Stevenson smelled blood and began to unload on Fonfara, throwing numerous power punches that had his opponent in trouble. Fonfara, however, was able to survive the onslaught and made it through the round.

The middle rounds of the fight were dominated by Stevenson, who continued to land hard shots and slowly wear down Fonfara. Despite being behind on the scorecards, Fonfara remained competitive, landing clean shots of his own and forcing Stevenson to remain cautious. In the eighth round, Fonfara was able to land a few good hooks to Stevenson's body, which appeared to slow the champion down a bit.

The championship rounds of the fight were highly competitive, with both fighters trading shots and landing good punches. Stevenson continued to look for the knockout, but Fonfara's movement and boxing skills prevented him from landing a clean shot. Fonfara, however, was also unable to significantly hurt Stevenson and the fight went the distance.

In the end, Stevenson was awarded the victory by way of a unanimous decision, with the judges scoring the fight 116-112, 115-113, and 114-114. Despite the loss, Fonfara proved himself to be a worthy and competitive opponent, showcasing his technical skills and heart throughout the fight. Stevenson, meanwhile, retained his WBC light heavyweight title and further established himself as one of the top fighters in the 175-pound division.

Overall, SCB: Stevenson vs. Fonfara I was a thrilling and exciting fight that showcased the best of what boxing has to offer. Both fighters put on an impressive display of skill and heart, making it a worthy addition to the rich history of the sport.
