Scaredy Squirrel season 1 episode 5, titled "Lumberjack Day / Suggestion Box Blues," follows Scaredy as he tries to avoid the chaos of Lumberjack Day, an annual event in Balsa City where lumberjacks compete in various events to determine the best lumberjack in the city. Meanwhile, Scaredy also deals with the stressful responsibilities of managing the suggestion box at the store.
In the first half of the episode, Scaredy devises a plan to avoid the loud and dangerous Lumberjack Day festivities by tricking Buddy, the store's resident tough-guy, into thinking he's a great lumberjack and getting him to compete in the lumberjack events. While Buddy is out competing, Scaredy takes over the store and tries to manage the suggestion box, a task that proves to be much more difficult than he anticipated.
Scaredy quickly realizes that everyone in Balsa City has an opinion about how to improve the store and they're not shy about expressing it. He struggles to keep up with the overwhelming amount of suggestions and eventually turns to his friend, Dave, for help. Dave offers to teach Scaredy a relaxation technique to cope with the stress of the suggestion box, but the technique only makes Scaredy more anxious.
In the second half of the episode, Buddy returns to the store, covered in cuts and bruises from the lumberjack events. He's disappointed because he didn't win any of the competitions, but Scaredy reminds him that he's still a great lumberjack in his own way. Scaredy then takes Buddy's suggestion to solve the suggestion box problem and hosts a "Suggestion Box Party" where he listens to every suggestion and tries to implement as many as possible.
Overall, "Lumberjack Day / Suggestion Box Blues" is a humorous episode that showcases Scaredy's resourcefulness and perseverance as he tries to handle the daunting task of managing the store's suggestion box while also avoiding the chaos of Lumberjack Day. The episode teaches the importance of listening to others' suggestions, even if they seem overwhelming at first, and finding creative solutions to difficult problems.
