Ep 8. An Affair at Bromfield Hall

Scarecrow and Mrs. King season 2 episode 8, "An Affair at Bromfield Hall," finds Lee and Amanda in the middle of a high-end espionage case. The episode begins with Amanda accompanying her mother to a garden party at the exclusive Bromfield Hall. While there, Amanda helps her mother's friend, who is catering the event, by serving drinks to the guests. That's when Amanda is approached by a man who introduces himself as Harry V. Thornton, an ambassador with connections to the State Department. He asks her to deliver a package to his son, who is studying at Georgetown.

Meanwhile, Lee is approached by one of his contacts who tells him that there is a possible leak in the State Department and that it could be at Bromfield Hall. Lee is then assigned to the case, and his first move is to approach Amanda for assistance. She tells him about her interaction with Ambassador Thornton and the package he asked her to deliver. Lee realizes that the ambassador's son is in fact a known Soviet spy who has been operating under the radar.

Lee and Amanda decide to team up to deliver the package to the ambassador's son on Georgetown's campus. However, things take a dangerous turn when they are ambushed by the KGB. They barely manage to escape unscathed, but they also learn that the package contains an incriminating document that could implicate many State Department officials in treason. With the clock ticking, Lee and Amanda race to uncover the identity of the mole before it's too late.

Their investigation leads them to a woman who is heavily involved in the State Department's affairs. She invites Lee and Amanda to her mansion for an exclusive dinner party where they discover that the woman is not only the mole they were looking for, but also a Soviet spy. It is soon revealed that the mole had been seducing the State Department officials she was spying on to gather information. During a tense face-off, Lee and Amanda manage to capture the spy and retrieve the incriminating document.

In the end, the case is solved, and Lee and Amanda's teamwork and quick thinking are once again proven to be invaluable to the Agency. The episode concludes with Lee and Amanda sharing a moment of connection, which hints at a possible romantic future for the two.
