Zack Morris is back at it again in Saved by the Bell season 4 episode 7, Check Your Mate. After a failed attempt at trying to win over Kelly Kapowski's affection, Zack finds himself in the company of an attractive new girl at Bayside High School, named Laura. As Zack becomes smitten with Laura, he begins to neglect his friendships and extracurricular activities, which results in a drastic drop in his grades. However, when Zack discovers that Laura is a fierce chess player, he concocts a plan to impress her by challenging her to a game of chess. Unfortunately for Zack, Laura turns out to be a formidable opponent, and after losing the match, he becomes convinced that she is out of his league.
While Zack is preoccupied with his love life, the rest of the gang at Bayside have problems of their own. Screech is dealing with a dilemma as he is forced to choose between two different girls that he is interested in. Meanwhile, Lisa is struggling to deal with the pressures of working a part-time job while also trying to maintain her friendships and grades. Jesse, on the other hand, becomes increasingly irritated with Slater's constant bragging about his athletic achievements.
As the episode progresses, Zack begins to realize that his obsession with Laura is causing him to neglect his friends and his future. He becomes determined to find a way to balance his love life with his responsibilities. Luckily, his friends are there to help him out, as they come up with a plan to help him study and improve his grades. In the end, Zack realizes that love is important, but it should never come at the cost of his future aspirations.
In typical Saved by the Bell fashion, Check Your Mate deals with a range of relatable topics and issues that teenagers face. From love and relationships to the pressures of school, this episode has a little something for everyone. The humor is light-hearted and fun, making it an enjoyable watch for all ages. Fans of the series will not be disappointed as they continue to follow the lives of their favorite high school students at Bayside.
