Zack Morris and A.C Slater are excited to spend their weekend with each other, but their plans of playing video games come to an abrupt halt when Zack gets grounded for poor grades. Searching for a solution, the duo decides to rent a parent for the day to fool Zack's mother.
With the help of a flyer advertising "Rent-A-Pop," they contact a man named Albert Clifford, who agrees to pose as Zack's father. However, things quickly spiral out of control when Mr. Clifford becomes overly enthusiastic and starts to parent Zack like a strict disciplinarian.
Meanwhile, Screech and Lisa Turtle try to raise money for the school dance by selling T-shirts. However, their design proves unpopular, leading them to come up with more creative ways to promote their merchandise.
As the day progresses, Zack becomes increasingly frustrated with Mr. Clifford's overbearing behavior. Things come to a head when Mr. Clifford catches the boys trying to sneak out to the arcade and threatens to call the police.
Desperate to salvage their day, Zack and Slater enlist the help of Kelly Kapowski, who poses as an aunt to convince Mr. Clifford to lighten up. In the end, the boys realize that while they may have been able to fool Zack's mother for a day, they can never replace the love and support of a real parent.
Filled with hilarious antics and heartwarming moments, Rent-A-Pop is a must-watch episode for fans of Saved by The Bell.
