In Saved by the Bell season 3 episode 11, entitled 1-900-Crushed, the students of Bayside High are buzzing with excitement over a new phone hotline. The hotline is a "love line" where students can call in and have anonymous conversations with operators about their crushes.
Zack Morris, the charismatic student prone to get himself and his friends in trouble, decides to use the hotline to impress a girl named Andrea. He makes up an elaborate persona and begins talking with her on the phone. Andrea is smitten by Zack's fake persona and even invites him to come to her house to meet in person.
Meanwhile, another student, Jessie Spano, is vehemently against the hotline and sees it as a way to exploit young girls who will inevitably fall for the charismatic operators. She decides to take a stand and writes an exposé for the school newspaper on the dangers of the hotline.
As Zack and Andrea plan to meet, he realizes that he can't keep up the facade any longer and must come clean to her about his real identity. Andrea is devastated and sends him away. However, his troubles are not over as he discovers that the love line is being controlled by a sleazy operator who is exploiting the young callers for his own gain.
With the help of his friends, particularly Screech who works at the love line, Zack sets out to expose the true nature of the hotline. Together they put together a sting operation to catch the operator and put an end to the love line once and for all.
Throughout the episode, the characters grapple with issues of identity, honesty, and the dangers of trusting strangers. However, in classic Saved by the Bell fashion, they learn valuable lessons, have fun, and manage to save the day.
