Zack Morris and his friends at Bayside High School are back for another episode of Saved by the Bell. In season 2, episode 16 titled "Save That Tiger," the gang must rally together to save their school's beloved mascot, a live tiger named Bayside Tony.
When Bayside High falls on hard times financially, Principal Belding decides to cut funding for extracurricular activities, including the cheerleading squad. However, he fails to account for the fact that their cheerleading squad's biggest attraction is Bayside Tony, the tiger that is kept in a cage on the school's football field.
When Tony's caretaker, Magic, is laid off due to the budget cuts, the friends are determined to keep him from being sold to a circus. They enlist the help of the entire student body, along with the school's janitor and the local pet store, to devise a plan to save Tony and the cheerleading squad.
Throughout the episode, the friends encounter several obstacles that threaten their plan to save Tony. Zack must overcome his fear of the tiger to retrieve a key that will unlock Tony's cage. Meanwhile, Slater, the star football player, is forced to sit out a game when he is injured while trying to protect Tony.
Despite the setbacks, the friends ultimately succeed in their mission and Tony is saved from being sold to the circus. Not only does the cheerleading squad get to keep their beloved mascot, but their efforts to save him are enough to convince Principal Belding to reinstate funding for extracurricular activities at Bayside High.
As the episode comes to an end, the friends celebrate their victory by throwing a big party at the school. Tony even makes an appearance, much to the delight of the students. The friends learn the value of teamwork and the importance of standing up for what they believe in, no matter how big the challenge may seem.
"Save That Tiger" is a heartwarming episode that showcases the loyalty and friendship of the main characters as they band together to save their school's mascot. It's a perfect example of the feel-good nature of Saved by the Bell and the valuable lessons it taught its young viewers.
