Zack, Kelly, Slater, and Screech have to complete a project for Mr. Belding's class on curses. They decide to make a documentary about the supposed curse on Bayside High, which states that if the school's trophy case doesn't contain a trophy from every sport, the school will be cursed. They quickly discover that the curse seems to be coming true, as the football team loses its star player to an injury and the dance team faces a wardrobe malfunction during their performance.
Meanwhile, Lisa is struggling to be accepted by a group of stylish girls at school. They mock her for her fashion choices and exclude her from their social events, leaving her feeling left out. Jessie tries to help her friend by suggesting a makeover, but Lisa is hesitant to change her look.
As the curse seems to be intensifying, the group decides to investigate the origin of the curse. They learn that it was created by a former Bayside High student who was upset about not being recognized for his athletic achievements. The group decides to break the curse by finding the missing pieces for the trophy case.
With Jesse's help to locate the missing pieces, they begin a desperate search for the missing trophies. In their search, they compete in the School band. Ultimately the band finds a trophy that saves the school from the curse and the band also gets a trophy for winning the competition.
Lisa ultimately concedes to Jessie’s advice and it reaps positive effects for her. At the end of the episode, Lisa's new fashion sense is a hit with the in-crowd, and the group is relieved to have broken the curse and saved Bayside High from impending doom. The episode concludes with the group triumphantly placing the missing trophies into the school's trophy case, much to the delight of Mr. Belding.
