Ep 2. First Blood

In Savage Kingdom season 2 episode 2, titled "First Blood," tensions rise as the dry season continues to make life difficult for the animals of the African savannah. As prey becomes scarce, predators must resort to increasingly aggressive tactics to survive.

The episode begins with a cheetah mother teaching her cubs how to hunt, but they quickly discover that their usual prey, the springbok, has migrated to another area. As the cheetahs struggle to find food, a new threat emerges in the form of a pride of lions led by a strong female named Matsumi. The lions have taken over the territory of a rival pride and are now on the hunt for new prey.

Meanwhile, a pack of wild dogs led by an alpha female named Tsebe is also struggling to find food. They attempt to take down an impala, but are unsuccessful. As they move on to search for other prey, they run into a lone hyena who is also searching for food. The hyena attempts to steal the wild dog's kill, but Tsebe and her pack fight back fiercely to protect their meal.

As the dry season wears on, tensions between the lions and the rival pride escalate. Matsumi leads her pride in a brutal attack on the rival pride's territory, killing several members. The surviving members of the rival pride are forced to flee into a new area, which sets up a potential clash with another nearby pride.

Back with the cheetahs, the mother and her cubs finally manage to catch a young impala, but are immediately spotted by a nearby jackal. The jackal calls out to alert a nearby hyena, who arrives on the scene and attempts to steal the cheetahs' hard-earned meal. However, the cheetahs are quick to defend themselves and their kill, driving the hyena away.

As the episode draws to a close, the wild dogs continue to struggle to find food, resorting to eating dung beetles and other insects to survive. The rival lion pride, now in a new territory, comes face to face with another nearby pride, setting the stage for a potential turf war.

Overall, "First Blood" is an action-packed episode that highlights the daily struggles faced by the predators and prey of the African savannah. As the dry season continues to take its toll, tensions rise and alliances are forged and broken as each animal fights to survive another day.
