Dan Levy, the co-creator and star of the Emmy-winning comedy series "Schitt's Creek" takes center stage as the host of Saturday Night Live's season 46 episode 11. Accompanying him on stage is singer-songwriter Phoebe Bridgers, making her SNL debut as the musical guest.

Levy's monologue sets the tone for the episode, joking about his first time hosting and the perks of being from a "small, humble town called Los Angeles." He also touches on the success of "Schitt's Creek" and jokes about the show's recent Emmy sweep.

The night's sketches include a commercial parody for the fake company "Universal Love," where Dan Levy plays the spokesperson for a dating app for any and all sexual orientations. There's also a sketch where Levy and Cecily Strong play a pair of siblings who are convinced they are the most talented coordinators at their dad's business, much to the annoyance of their coworkers.

In another sketch, titled "It Gets Better," Levy and other cast members play camp counselors who are far too obsessed with making sure their campers have a positive experience. The sketch manages to be both darkly funny and oddly touching.

As for Phoebe Bridgers' performances, she brings her hauntingly beautiful voice to the SNL stage with both "Kyoto" and "I Know The End." She wears her distinctive skeleton onesie for the latter performance, which has been a staple of her recent live shows.

Other standout moments include a "Weekend Update" segment where Michael Che and Colin Jost break down the political news of the week, including the COVID-19 vaccine rollout and the ongoing impeachment trial. Melissa Villaseñor also appears in a well-received segment where she sings about getting her first COVID-19 vaccine shot.

Overall, with Dan Levy at the helm, the show delivers a solid episode that has plenty of laughs and a handful of touching moments. Phoebe Bridgers' performances also add a nice touch, proving that she's more than just a talented singer-songwriter, but a great performer as well.
