Shia LaBeouf, known for his roles in movies such as Transformers and American Honey, hosted the 11th episode of Saturday Night Live's 33rd season. Accompanying him was the American rock band, My Morning Jacket, as the musical guest.

The show started with a cold open featuring a mock press conference held by President George W. Bush, played by cast member Will Forte. With the Iraq war coming to an end, the press corps asked Bush questions about what he planned to do next. The skit poked fun at some of Bush's most memorable gaffes and ended with Forte's Bush dancing to the tune of "My Humps" by the Black Eyed Peas.

The monologue saw LaBeouf joking about his past controversies which included getting arrested for public intoxication and his awkward appearance on the red carpet while wearing a paper bag over his head. He also made headlines by proclaiming his love for the show in an interview prior to the episode.

The first sketch of the night saw LaBeouf and Kristen Wiig playing a couple on a first date at a restaurant when they're interrupted by the restaurant's singing chef, played by cast member Fred Armisen. The chef's singing and guitar playing talents caused the couple to have an awkward time.

In another sketch, LaBeouf played a police officer patrolling an inner-city neighborhood, teamed up with Armisen's rookie cop. They encounter a group of gang members, including cast member Kenan Thompson's character, who invites them into his apartment for pizza and to show them his dance moves.

One of the standout sketches of the night saw LaBeouf and cast members Bill Hader and Jason Sudeikis playing three space station astronauts on a live broadcast. Things quickly spiral out of control when one of the playing cards they're using floats away, causing them to improvise their way through the rest of the segment.

The musical performances from My Morning Jacket included "I'm Amazed" and "Evil Urges" from their album Evil Urges, which was released earlier that year. The band's unique sound and energetic performances made for a fantastic addition to the show.

The Weekend Update segment saw cast members Amy Poehler and Seth Meyers providing commentary on the week's news. Some of the topics included the ongoing Democratic primaries, the economic stimulus package, and the controversy surrounding the Super Bowl halftime show. The segment also featured a guest appearance from Armisen's character, New York governor David Paterson.

Another memorable sketch from the episode involved LaBeouf playing a guy named Doug who appears on a court TV show to get a restraining order against his girlfriend, played by Wiig. The twist? The girlfriend is actually a praying mantis in a human disguise.

The show ended with a sketch featuring LaBeouf and cast member Andy Samberg playing two guys who attempt to make a viral video by lip-syncing to classic songs such as "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey and "Time After Time" by Cyndi Lauper.

Overall, the Shia LaBeouf/My Morning Jacket episode of Saturday Night Live's 33rd season provided plenty of laughs and memorable moments. The combination of LaBeouf's comedic talents and My Morning Jacket's musical prowess made for a standout episode that was sure to please fans of the long-running sketch comedy show.
