In season 32, episode 5 of Saturday Night Live, fans were in for a treat with the talented Alec Baldwin hosting and the stunning Christina Aguilera as the musical guest.
The episode began with a classic cold open sketch where Amy Poehler reprised her role as Hillary Clinton, reflecting on her recent presidential election loss. Baldwin's Donald Trump makes an appearance, which as always, draws a lot of laughs.
The show then moves into a sketch with Baldwin playing a father admiring his Christmas tree with his family. The sketch takes a bizarre turn when his siblings, played by cast members Bill Hader, Kristen Wiig, and Kenan Thompson, start sharing inappropriate moments from their past. The awkward tension results in a hilarious performance by the cast.
Next up is a parody of a cooking show, with Maya Rudolph as the host, and Baldwin and Aguilera as the celebrity guests. The sketch is filled with double entendres and inappropriate jokes, giving the cast the opportunity to let their comedic skills shine.
The digital short in this episode is a music video parody of the song "Jizz in My Pants," called "Threw It on the Ground." The parody, starring cast member Andy Samberg, is an upbeat, catchy tune that had viewers dancing in their seats.
The Weekend Update portion included a guest appearance by Kristen Wiig as her character, Target Lady. She discusses holiday shopping, and her quirky personality had the audience in stitches. The show also featured a segment called "Really?! with Seth and Amy" where the dynamic duo takes on the absurdity of the day's current events.
After the Weekend Update, the show jumped into a hilarious sketch titled "Mort Mort Feingold: Accountant to the Stars." In the sketch, Baldwin plays an accountant that is tasked with helping Kenan Thompson's character file his taxes. The weird encounters and awkward interactions result in a fantastic performance by the crew.
Another notable sketch in this episode is the recurring sketch "Bronx Beat," hosted by Amy Poehler and Maya Rudolph. The two best friends talk about their lives in the Bronx, and their guests this time around are Aguilera and Baldwin. The sketch is filled with witty exchanges and lots of laughs.
The episode also features a sketch about a Broadway show called "Kicked in the Dick," starring SNL cast member Fred Armisen. The parody of Broadway musicals is hysterical, and the audience enjoyed seeing Armisen show off his singing and dancing skills.
Overall, the episode was a huge success, with Baldwin and Aguilera’s fantastic performances. The cast members all brought their A-game, delivering hilarious performances in every sketch. SNL fans were not disappointed with this episode.
