Samurai Jack season 4 episode 6, titled "XLV", follows the continued journey of Jack as he navigates a futuristic world to find a way to return to his own time and defeat the evil Aku. In this episode, Jack comes across a village that is being attacked by a group of insect-like creatures known as the Aphids.
Despite the inhabitants' pleas for him to stay and help defend their village, Jack initially refuses, feeling that he cannot afford to delay his mission any longer. However, when he realizes the true extent of the danger that the Aphids pose to the village and its people, he finally agrees to stay and help.
The bulk of the episode centers around Jack's efforts to fortify the village and prepare for the impending Aphid attack. He works with the villagers to gather supplies and build barricades, all while teaching them how to defend themselves using various weapons and combat techniques.
As the night draws on, the Aphids finally arrive and a fierce battle ensues. Jack and the villagers put up a valiant fight, using their carefully constructed defenses and newfound combat skills to repel wave after wave of attackers. However, as the night wears on, it becomes clear that their efforts may not be enough to hold off the relentless onslaught.
Just when all seems lost, a mysterious figure named the "Samurai Horseman" arrives on the scene, riding a horse and wielding an enchanted sword. With his arrival, the tide of the battle begins to turn in favor of Jack and the villagers, as the Samurai Horseman quickly dispatches many of the Aphids with ease.
As the battle comes to a close, Jack and the Samurai Horseman have a brief conversation in which the Horseman reveals that he has been sent by the gods to aid Jack on his quest. He gives Jack a cryptic message regarding the location of a mystical artifact that may aid him in his efforts to return to his own time.
The episode ends with the villagers bidding farewell to Jack as he continues on his journey, now armed with a newfound sense of purpose and the knowledge that he is not alone in his quest. As the camera pans out, we see the Samurai Horseman watching from a distance, his true motives and identity remaining shrouded in mystery.
