Samurai Harem, also known as Asu no Yoichi!, is a romantic comedy anime that aired in 2009. The series is set in a traditional Japanese town where a young samurai named Yoichi Karasuma comes to hone his skills in modern swordsmanship at the dojo of his father's friend. However, he discovers that the dojo is now a girls' dormitory and that he has to live with four beautiful and eccentric sisters who are all martial artists themselves.
The protagonist, Yoichi, is a skilled swordsman, but he has a lot to learn about living in a modern society. He is kind-hearted, hard-working, and always willing to help others. He quickly becomes popular among the girls of the dormitory and earns their respect by protecting them from bullies and other threats.
The first girl that Yoichi meets is Ibuki Ikaruga, the eldest sister who runs the dormitory. She is kind and responsible, but also strict and quick to anger. She initially dislikes Yoichi, but later becomes his mentor in swordsmanship and develops feelings for him.
The second girl is Ayame Ikaruga, the second sister who is the complete opposite of Ibuki. She is carefree, impulsive, and loves teasing Yoichi. Ayame is also a skilled martial artist, but she prefers using her wits rather than brute strength in battles.
The third girl is Chihaya Ikaruga, the third sister who is quiet and reserved. She is a talented artist and often spends her time painting. Although she doesn't talk much, she is always there for Yoichi when he needs her.
The fourth girl is Kagome Ikaruga, the youngest sister who is highly energetic and cheerful. She is always looking for fun and loves playing pranks on Yoichi. Kagome is also a skilled cook and enjoys making meals for the dormitory.
Aside from the main characters, there are also several supporting characters who add to the comedy and romance of the series. These include the other students of the dormitory, such as the shy and clumsy Ukyo Saionji, the tomboyish and athletic Washizu Kitamura, and the elegant and sophisticated Tsubasa Kusanagi. There are also other samurai who challenge Yoichi to duels, such as the cold and calculating Kojiro Sasaki and the hot-headed and impulsive Goemon Ishikawa.
Throughout the series, Yoichi has to balance his training in swordsmanship with his interactions with the girls of the dormitory. He faces numerous challenges, such as dealing with his growing feelings for Ibuki while trying to remain loyal to all the sisters, battling rival samurai who want to claim his title, and protecting the dormitory from various threats.
The anime is a lighthearted and humorous take on the harem genre, and it also has plenty of action and romance. The animation style is bright and colorful, with plenty of exaggerated expressions and comedic sound effects. The voice acting is also top-notch, with talented seiyuus bringing the characters to life.
In conclusion, Samurai Harem is a fun and entertaining anime that is sure to delight fans of romantic comedies and action series alike. With its likable characters, engaging plot, and high production values, it's a must-watch for anyone looking for a good laugh and a heartwarming story.
