Ep 1. The Way to Armageddon

The Way to Armageddon is the first episode of the anime series, Samurai Deeper Kyo. The show takes place during Japan's feudal period and follows the journey of a young samurai named Kyoshiro Mibu, who is possessed by the spirit of a feared swordsman named Demon Eyes Kyo.

The episode opens with a great battle between two armies. The soldiers on one side are outfitted in black uniforms and are led by a powerful female samurai named Yuya Shiina. On the other side are the Red Army, who are fighting to protect their Master, the feared samurai Demon Eyes Kyo. During the battle, Yuya manages to break through the Red Army's ranks and confronts Kyo face-to-face.

As they clash swords, Kyo recognizes something strange about Yuya. She is able to dodge his attacks with unnerving ease and seems to have a deep understanding of his fighting style. Realizing that Yuya might know something about his past, Kyo decides to spare her life and to question her instead.

Meanwhile, Kyoshiro Mibu and his traveling companion, Sakuya, stumble upon the battlefield. Kyoshiro is a skilled swordsman but is not interested in fighting. Sakuya is a healer and serves as Kyoshiro's conscience, often scolding him for his lack of ambition.

While they are observing the battle, Yuya approaches them and asks for their help in locating a man named Kyoshiro Mibu. The name triggers something in Kyoshiro's mind, and he realizes that he is the man she is referring to. Yuya explains that she is looking for Mibu because he is the only one who can lead her to Demon Eyes Kyo.

Kyoshiro is hesitant at first, but Yuya uses her knowledge of his past to persuade him. She tells him that he used to be a highly respected samurai, but something happened that caused him to lose his memory and become a wandering swordsman. Intrigued by the possibility of regaining his memories, Kyoshiro agrees to help Yuya.

Together, the three of them set off on a journey to find Demon Eyes Kyo. Along the way, they encounter a variety of unique characters, including a group of bandits who try to steal Sakuya's medical supplies, a mysterious samurai who seems to have a connection to Yuya, and a powerful warrior who challenges Kyoshiro to a one-on-one battle.

As the episode comes to a close, Kyoshiro, Yuya, and Sakuya finally reach their destination. They stand before a massive stone structure known as the Tower of Babylon, which is rumoured to be the gateway to the spirit world. According to legend, Demon Eyes Kyo is trapped inside the tower, and the only way to free him is by performing a forbidden ritual that could lead to the end of the world.

The Way to Armageddon sets the stage for an epic journey filled with action, adventure, and mystery. As the characters search for the truth about their pasts and their destinies, they will face numerous challenges and make new alliances. With its stunning animation, memorable characters, and intricate storyline, Samurai Deeper Kyo is sure to captivate audiences and leave them hungry for more.
