Samantha Brown's Great Weekends is a travel show that follows host Samantha Brown as she explores different destinations across the country. In season 1 episode 11, Samantha heads to Washington, DC, to discover all the city has to offer.

The episode begins with Samantha arriving in the nation's capital and checking into the Watergate Hotel, famous for its connection to the Watergate scandal in the 1970s. She then heads to the National Mall, a two-mile stretch of green space that is home to some of the city's most iconic monuments and museums.

Samantha starts her tour of the National Mall at the Lincoln Memorial, a towering statue of the 16th president of the United States. She then makes her way to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, where she takes a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by the men and women who served in the Vietnam War.

Next, Samantha visits the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, which houses an extensive collection of artifacts that tell the story of America's past. Here, she marvels at the original Star Spangled Banner, which inspired the country's national anthem.

Samantha then takes a break from the historical sites and indulges in a little retail therapy at Eastern Market, a vibrant outdoor marketplace that sells everything from handmade crafts to fresh produce. She also visits Union Market, a trendy food hall that offers a wide variety of international cuisine.

After lunch, Samantha heads to Georgetown, a historic neighborhood that is famous for its charming cobblestone streets and upscale boutiques. She takes a stroll along the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal, a picturesque waterway that was once used to transport goods to and from the nation's capital.

Samantha's last stop of the day is the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, a world-renowned arts center that hosts a wide variety of performances, from classical music concerts to modern dance productions. Samantha attends a performance by the National Symphony Orchestra and is blown away by the talent of the musicians.

The episode concludes with Samantha reflecting on her time in Washington, DC, and all the amazing experiences she had during her visit. She encourages viewers to come and see the city for themselves, noting that there is always something new to discover in the nation's capital.
