In Salvage Dawgs season 5 episode 6 titled Portside Marina, the team ventures out to Chesapeake, Virginia to salvage various materials from an old marina that was in operation for over 50 years. The marina was home to a number of boats, including a 65-foot Hatteras yacht that was in need of repair, but the team turns their focus to the docks, the decking, and the shore-side buildings that have plenty of high-quality materials that can be given a second life.

The team starts their salvage operation by tackling the wooden docks that surround the marina. The docks were built using high-quality materials, including cedar and pine wood which the team planned on using to make custom furniture pieces, tables, and display cases. With Matt, Mike, and Roxy, the team works to secure the docks and get them onto a nearby truck, where the materials could then be transported safely back to the Black Dog Salvage warehouse.

Next, Mike and Tay head to the marina's old boat house which was used to store all of the smaller fishing boats. The team was able to find plenty of materials, including amazing flooring and beadboard that could be repurposed to make custom cabinetry or other decorative items. The building also had a treasure trove of antique lighting fixtures, which were in good condition and still had original wiring dating back to the 1950s.

The team also discovered a wooden beam in the old boat house, which was made from hard-to-find old-growth timber. The team was excited to find a use for this high-quality material and planned on using the beam to make custom furniture.

The team then turns their focus to one of the marina's larger buildings, an old real estate office that was no longer in use. Mike and Grayson go to work on the building, and the team found plenty of vintage windows, wooden doors, and architectural details that were still in excellent condition. Mike and Grayson then salvage enough of the original wood siding to use in the construction of a new bar at the Black Dog Salvage warehouse.

The episode also highlights the challenge of dealing with old, worn-out boats, which can be good sources of materials but also have the potential to be hazardous. The team salvages a 65-foot Hatteras yacht that had been abandoned for years, which was being used as storage for other boats. Mike and the team were able to salvage a number of great materials from the boat, such as the teak decking, railings, and portholes. The team takes precautions to avoid damaging the environment and safely removes the hazardous materials from the boat.

Overall, Salvage Dawgs season 5 episode 6 was a successful salvage operation, with the team salvaging a wealth of materials that can be repurposed in various ways to create unique and high-quality furniture, decor, and architectural details. The team also demonstrated their commitment to safety and environmental responsibility while working to salvage the materials from the abandoned marina.
