Ep 28. Tuxedo Melvin

In Sailor Moon season 1 episode 28, titled "Tuxedo Melvin", we find our heroine and her friends facing a new challenge. The evil Queen Beryl has sent the Negaforce to possess Melvin, Serena's classmate and love interest, and turn him into a dangerous monster. As Melvin turns against his friends and starts causing chaos wherever he goes, Sailor Moon and her team must find a way to break the Negaforce's hold on him and save his soul.

The episode starts with Serena and her friends enjoying a day off from school at the arcade. Melvin, who has a crush on Serena, tries to impress her by showing off his gaming skills. However, things take a turn for the worse when Melvin suddenly starts acting strange and aggressive. He attacks his friends and destroys the arcade machines with his newfound strength. Serena and her friends manage to escape unharmed, but they realize that Melvin has been possessed by the Negaforce, a powerful evil entity controlled by Queen Beryl.

Sailor Moon and her fellow Sailor Scouts are summoned by Luna, their feline advisor, who explains the situation and urges them to find a way to stop the Negaforce before it destroys Melvin and causes more harm. The Scouts transform into their magical alter egos and set out to track down Melvin, who has turned into a giant monster and is rampaging through the city. They try to reason with him, but he is beyond their reach and attacks them relentlessly.

Meanwhile, Luna and Artemis, the white cat who serves as Tuxedo Mask's advisor, discover that the Negaforce is using Melvin's dreams and desires to trap him in a world of illusions. They understand that the only way to defeat the Negaforce is for Tuxedo Mask, who has his own personal history with villainesses and whose powers are based around illusions, to break through the illusions and reach Melvin's true self. Sailor Moon and her friends rush to find Tuxedo Mask, who is fighting off Queen Beryl's minions in another part of the city.

Tuxedo Mask, who is still in love with Sailor Moon but keeps his true identity a secret, reluctantly agrees to help the Scouts. He uses his powers to enter Melvin's dreamscape, where he faces off against the Negaforce and tries to break its hold on Melvin. Meanwhile, Sailor Moon and her friends are confronted by Queen Beryl's forces, but they manage to hold their ground thanks to their teamwork and magical powers.

As Tuxedo Mask battles the Negaforce, he remembers his own past traumas and how he once succumbed to darkness and fought against Sailor Moon. He realizes that Melvin is not his enemy, but a victim like he once was, and decides to put his life on the line to save him. With one final push, Tuxedo Mask breaks the Negaforce's spell and frees Melvin from its grasp.

In the end, Melvin is restored to his normal self, but he has no memory of his possession. He thanks Sailor Moon and her friends for saving him and leaves, while Tuxedo Mask silently watches from afar. The Scouts reflect on their victory, but also on the fact that the battles against Queen Beryl will only get tougher from now on. Sailor Moon swears to protect her friends and the world from all evil, no matter the cost. The episode ends on a cliffhanger, with another one of Queen Beryl's minions appearing on the scene, hinting at more danger to come.
