As the seventh episode of the first season of Sailor Moon Crystal, Act 7, titled "Mamoru Chiba - Tuxedo Mask -," begins with Usagi and Mamoru encountering each other at his apartment building. Once he sees her, he becomes overwhelmingly emotional and leaves abruptly, ignoring her questions.
The next day, Usagi and her friends are heading towards the arcade where they usually hang out when they suddenly spot a new store that claims to sell true love. They all decide to enter and take a look around, only to discover that the store is run by the evil Queen Beryl’s Dark Kingdom. The Dark Kingdom forces customers to sign contracts that allow the company to manipulate their dreams and extract energy from them. Upon realizing this, the Sailor Scouts show up in their usual outfits, ready to save the day. However, they soon find themselves in a trap and are attacked by the Dark Kingdom's Youma.
While the Sailor Scouts battle the Youma, Usagi comes across Mamoru, and—he finally reveals his secret—an extraordinary power that he uses to become Tuxedo Mask. He is fighting to prevent the Dark Kingdom from obtaining the Legendary Silver Crystal, which is his only memory of his past life and his own true identity. In the midst of the battle, Usagi is stabbed and badly injured. Tuxedo Mask’s overwhelming feelings for her awaken his latent powers and he uses them to heal her wounds. Awed by his strength and kindness, Usagi cheers for him. She and Tuxedo Mask, despite not being aware of their full connection, seem to be drawn towards each other.
As the Dark Kingdom retreats, the Sailor Scouts and Tuxedo Mask part ways. Usagi, still thinking about what happened, goes to the arcade to gather her thoughts and runs into Mamoru for the third time. She finally gets the chance to thank him and apologize for causing him trouble. Mamoru reveals that he has been able to see the past; he saw Usagi in his dreams and realized she is his long-lost princess.
The episode ends with a cliffhanger, as with the acknowledgement of their true identities, the story takes on a much larger threat. The viewer is left wanting more and eager to see what happens next.
