Ryan's Mystery Playdate is a children's television show that features Ryan, an eight-year-old kid, and his animated doggo friend, Gus, who explore various playdates filled with adventures and mysteries. Ryan is also accompanied by his parents and little brother on all his playdates. In season 2, episode 23, titled 'Ryan's Climbin' Playdate,' the adventure begins with Ryan and Gus receiving a special message from their Mystery Pad, which leads them to their backyard, where they are greeted with a giant obstacle course designed around a rock climbing theme.

Ryan is excited about rock climbing, and his playdate partners are quickly introduced. Today, Ryan will be joined by his little brother, Daddy, and his father's friend, Mike. The obstacle course towering over the backyard is immense and full of different stations that cut across various themes inspired by rock climbing. Their Mystery Pad guides them as they move through the different stations, and Ryan's energy is palpable as he leads the way. The first challenge involves solving a puzzle, where Ryan and his partners have to pick out the correct colored rocks out of an array of differently colored rocks, to open the gate leading to the obstacle course.

The course itself is a series of challenges that simulate a rock climbing expedition. Ryan and his partners begin with a steep climb up the rock wall, using hand and foot holds to move up. Ryan's parents stand below cheering him on as Daddy gets his turn to climb after Ryan. The climb is challenging, but fun, and they both manage to make it up the wall rather quickly. The team moved on to the next challenge, which is a rope bridge that sways, and the only way they can cross is by crawling carefully through the ropes.

The bridge leads them to a giant boulder, and it's time to put their strength and agility to the test. Ryan and his teammates must work their way across the boulder, using a series of hand and foot holds, while avoiding the dangerous cracks in the boulder. The next challenge is a rock wall, but this one is different as Ryan and Daddy are connected to each other with a rope, and they have to climb simultaneously, pulling each other up as they go.

The final challenge in the obstacle course is the zipline. Ryan had been looking forward to the zipline, and it's finally time to take the plunge. They get harnessed, and Gus pilots them as they fly down the zipline, landing safely on the other end. The obstacle course adventure is complete, and it's time to solve the final mystery.

Ryan stands below a tall rock wall with a door on it, and his Mystery Pad tells him that the key to unlocking it is up high on the wall. Ryan puts on his harness and climbs up the wall looking for the key. Finally, he finds the key and descends back to open the door. Inside the room the door leads to, Ryan finds his Mystery Box. He sets it down next to him as they all gather around and opens it up to find the biggest surprise of the day – a one of a kind, never before seen bottle that magically reveals hidden messages. And that's not all; they also find a personalized climbing harness labeled with Ryan's name.
