  • January 30, 2019

Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television is a comedy/mystery series that follows the antics of Ryan Hansen, a fictionalized version of himself working as a cop partnered with a by-the-book, no-nonsense detective. Together, they solve crimes while being followed by a documentary film crew.

Season 2 begins with Episode 1, and it's clear that the show is going for a bit of a reset. The episode opens with our hero, Ryan Hansen, in a new job as a private investigator. He's the same charming goofball we remember from Season 1, but now he's working without the constraints of a police department, which gives him a little more freedom to be reckless.

The episode begins with the introduction of a brand new character: Ryan's intern, Spencer. Spencer is a young, eager guy who's been following Ryan around for a while in hopes of getting a job with him. He's a bit of an oddball, but that just makes him fit in perfectly with the rest of the cast.

The case that Ryan and Spencer are working on in this episode involves a celebrity couple who have lost their dog. It's a small case compared to some of the stuff they worked on in Season 1, but that doesn't stop Ryan from treating it like the most important thing in the world. He's determined to find the dog and return it to its owners, no matter what it takes.

As Ryan and Spencer set out to track down the dog, they encounter a number of suspects who could have been involved in the disappearance. There's the dog walker who was supposed to be taking care of the pup, a rival celebrity who may have had something to gain by getting the couple's dog out of the picture, and even a random guy who was spotted walking a similar-looking dog in the area at the time of the disappearance.

Meanwhile, Ryan's former partner, Mathers, shows up to explain why he's no longer working with Ryan. Mathers is now working with a new partner, a by-the-book guy who's the complete opposite of the reckless Ryan. Mathers is convinced that Ryan is going to get himself killed with his reckless behavior, and he wants to set him straight before it's too late.

As the investigation heats up, Ryan and Spencer find themselves in some truly bizarre situations. They stake out the celebrity couple's house, dress up in disguises to sneak into a fancy party, and even get into a wild car chase to try and catch the culprit. Along the way, there are plenty of laughs to be had, as Ryan's signature brand of humor keeps things light even when the situation is dire.

In the end, Ryan and Spencer do manage to solve the case and return the dog to its rightful owners. But it's clear that there are bigger challenges ahead for our hero as he tries to navigate his new career as a private investigator. As the episode ends, we see Ryan and Spencer sitting in their office, surrounded by stacks of files and paperwork, ready to take on whatever comes their way next.

Overall, Episode 1 of Season 2 is a solid start to the new season of Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television. It's a fun, engaging episode that sets up some interesting new storylines for our heroes and introduces some new characters who are sure to play a big role in the coming episodes. If you're a fan of the show, this is definitely an episode you won't want to miss.
