As the seventh episode of the first season of the popular animated web series RWBY, "The Emerald Forest (2)" picks up where the previous episode left off. Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang are separated, having been paired up to find various relics as part of their training at Beacon Academy. Teams RWBY and JNPR have been tasked with finding a "relatively benign" item in the forest, but in typical RWBY fashion, things don't go as planned.

"The Emerald Forest (2)" features plenty of action, as fans have come to expect from RWBY. Each team has their own battles to fight, and the episode is full of tense moments as the characters fend off the various Grimm they encounter. The fights are well-animated, and each character's unique fighting style is shown off well.

The episode also delves deeper into the characters' motivations and personalities. Ruby is shown to be incredibly driven and focused on her goal of becoming a Huntress. Weiss continues to be haughty and dismissive of her teammates, but begins to show signs of wanting to help them. Blake is still mysterious, but hints are dropped about her past. Yang is her usual confident self, but the episode hints at her deeper emotional capabilities.

"The Emerald Forest (2)" is a fantastic continuation of the previous episode's set-up, and it sets up even more plot threads that will be continued in later episodes. If you're a fan of Ruby and her team, or just enjoy exciting, well-animated action scenes, this episode is definitely worth a watch.
