Ep 8. Accidents Happen / Pee Wee Scouts

In Rugrats season 7 episode 8, titled "Accidents Happen / Pee Wee Scouts," Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil accidentally crash Susie's mother's expensive vase while playing around. They try to fix it up, but as it only makes it worse, they decide to find a way to earn money to replace it. Meanwhile, Angelica tries to persuade the babies into helping her earn a sticker for a Pee-Wee Scouts ceremony.

"Accidents Happen" opens with Susie's mother, Lucy, stopping by the Pickles' house, showing Susie and Angelica her new and expensive vase. The babies, as usual, playfully run around, and just as they were about to settle down in front of the TV, Chuckie falls, and the babies' "demolition derby" begins distracting them from their mission out to find Susie's backpack. In the midst of the chaos, Tommy grabs onto the vase's deep purple cloth, which crashes down to the floor, shattering into pieces.

Panicking, the babies try to hide it from Lucy, who they know will be upset that such an expensive possession has been broken. In a series of comedic events, they try to glue the pieces back together, but it only ends up looking worse and more awkward than before. They decide, in the end, that they will have to save up money to buy a new vase to replace the one they broke.

The rest of the episode follows them on their adventures to make money. They first plan to sell Taffy at a stand in the park, but it doesn't go as planned because everybody seems too busy to buy Taffy. Eventually, they come up with an ingenious idea using Tommy's toy drill and Chuckie's willingness to crawl into places normally inaccessible. The babies scour the park for "bottle-tops" which they would exchange for actual bottle-money, and end up making enough to pay for the vase. Ecstatic, they set off to replace it, only to realize that the vase is already fixed and Lucy hadn't even noticed the damage.

In the second half of the episode, Angelica is super proud to show off her opportunity to earn the final sticker towards her Pee-Wee Scouts award for badge accumulation. Initially, she tries and fails to convince the babies to help her clean up a location as part of the badge-earning-criteria. However, once the babies believe they can earn a sticker, they're all in. They start negotiating with Angelica about the badge-earnings. Tommy demands he has the badge after putting a sticker on Angelica's back, which leads to Angelica forcing the babies into ridiculous attempts to justify her badge-earning-criteria. They help her clean up in the end, though in a not so traditional way.

Overall, "Accidents Happen / Pee Wee Scouts" is a fun-filled, comedic episode, taking the viewers on a journey with the babies as humorous mishaps and explorations take place. The Rugrats' usual antics are showcased in a unique and exciting way, providing ample entertainment and adventure. It is definitely worth a watch for kids and adults alike.
