Ep 2. Runaway Angelica

Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, Lil, and Angelica are back in season 4 of Rugrats, and in episode 2, titled "Runaway Angelica," Angelica decides she's tired of being bossed around by her cousin's parents and sets out on her own. Of course, being only 3 years old, this doesn't go quite as planned.

The episode opens with Angelica throwing a temper tantrum because she can't find her favorite toy, Cynthia. Tommy's dad, Stu, tries to calm her down by telling her that he and his wife Didi will give her a new toy if she stops crying. Angelica accepts the offer but quickly becomes bored with her new toy, a toy microphone. She decides to make her own entertainment by bossing Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil around, as usual. She orders them to play a tea party with her and even makes Phil and Lil dress up in pink tutus.

But Angelica's power trip is short-lived when Didi makes her take a nap. Fed up with being told what to do all the time, Angelica decides to make a break for it. She sneaks out of the house and runs away, determined to be on her own. She imagines herself as a brave adventurer, exploring the world on her own.

Meanwhile, Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil wake up from their nap and realize that Angelica is missing. They immediately assume that she's been kidnapped and set out to find her. They're joined by another character, Susie, who reluctantly agrees to help them even though she's not a big fan of Angelica.

Angelica's adventure isn't going quite as well as she hoped. She quickly gets lost and realizes that being alone isn't as fun as she thought it would be. She starts to get scared and misses her family. She stumbles upon a construction site and accidentally gets trapped inside a large crate that's going to be shipped away. The crate is loaded onto a truck, and Angelica is whisked away to parts unknown.

Tommy and his friends are still searching for Angelica, and Susie suggests that they check the nearby park since Angelica loves to play there. They arrive at the park and spot Angelica's pink tutu on the ground. They follow a trail of pink feathers and eventually find the construction site where Angelica was last seen. They realize that she must have climbed inside one of the crates and been shipped away. They frantically search for her but can't find her anywhere.

Back at the house, Stu and Didi are starting to get worried about Angelica. They ask around the neighborhood if anyone has seen her, but no one has. Angelica's parents, who are out of town, call to check in, and Stu and Didi have to break the news to them that their daughter is missing.

Meanwhile, Angelica is still trapped inside the crate, which is now on a cargo ship somewhere out at sea. She's hungry, scared, and alone. She has a moment of realization that she's made a mistake by running away and wishes she could go back home.

Back on land, Tommy and his friends are ready to give up the search when they hear a faint cry for help. They follow the sound to the cargo ship where Angelica is being held. With Susie's help, they figure out a way to sneak onto the ship and find Angelica. They rescue her from the crate, and Angelica is overjoyed to see her friends.

The group makes their way back to the park where they are greeted by a worried Stu and Didi. Angelica's parents are also there to thank Tommy and his friends for finding their daughter. Angelica apologizes for running away, and everyone is just happy to have her back safe and sound.

The episode ends with Angelica getting a huge hug from her parents and promising to never run away again. For a moment, she seems genuinely remorseful, but it isn't long before she's back to bossing everyone around and making demands. But that's just Angelica being Angelica.
