Ep 2. Enju
- October 27, 2005
The show Rozen Maiden season 2 episode 2 'Enju' begins with our protagonist, Jun Sakurada waking up to find that his house is in complete shambles. His sister, Nori, is also noticeably ill and he is unable to find his Rozen Maiden doll, Shinku. In an effort to console his sister and find Shinku, Jun heads out to search for her and finds himself in the park.
In the park, Jun is approached by the flamboyant Suigintou, another Rozen Maiden doll who has a hauntingly eerie presence. Suigintou offers to help Jun find Shinku, but he is hesitant given their tumultuous history. Suigintou is a character who seems to relish in causing others pain and discomfort, so Jun isn't sure if he can trust her.
Meanwhile, Shinku is shown in a desolate space with the enigmatic Enju observing her. Enju is a passive character, who keeps her distance and doesn't engage directly with Shinku. Shinku tries to communicate with Enju, but it is clear that she will need to gain her trust and pass an unknown test if she wants to leave this realm.
Back in the real world, Jun becomes increasingly disheartened as he is unable to find Shinku. In his desperation, he reaches out to his online friend Tomoe, who has previous experience with Rozen Maiden dolls. Tomoe advises Jun to visit the Dollmaker, an elusive figure who is said to have the power to fix broken Rozen Maiden dolls.
At the Dollmaker's workshop, Jun is surprised to find that the Dollmaker is actually a young girl named Kirakishou, who he discovers is Shinku's younger sister and the seventh Rozen Maiden doll. Kirakishou is different from the other dolls in that she doesn't have a physical body and exists only in a dimension separate from the real world. She is also more powerful than the other dolls and may pose a real threat to Jun and his friends.
The episode concludes with Shinku successfully passing Enju's test and returning to the real world. However, her reunion with Jun is short-lived as Suigintou, who has been following Jun, confronts Shinku and Kirakishou at the park. The episode ends with a cliffhanger, leaving viewers eager for the next installment to find out what will happen next.
