Ep 4. Sweet Angelica

Rosemary & Thyme Season 1 Episode 4 "Sweet Angelica" revolves around two friends, Rosemary Boxer and Laura Thyme, who are also amateur gardeners and detectives. The episode begins with the duo being hired by an old friend, Stuart Hillary, who has recently purchased Angelica, a historic manor house with a garden that dates back to the 17th century.

When Rosemary and Laura arrive at Angelica, they are introduced to the house's staff, including the head gardener Dan Gallagher, who is excited to work with the duo on restoring the garden to its former glory. However, their initial excitement is short-lived as they soon discover that things are not as they seem at Angelica.

The duo notices that the garden is full of weeds and thorny shrubs which are choking the life out of the plants. They set about clearing away the weeds and removing the dead wood, but soon come across something more alarming.

As they continue to work on the garden, they discover a dead body buried in the flower beds. The victim is identified as a local builder, who had been working at Angelica before suddenly disappearing. This new discovery spurs the duo into action, and they start to investigate the crime.

They discover that Angelica's new owner, Stuart, has some suspicions about his wife, Abigail, who seems to have been acting rather strangely since their arrival at the manor. Rosemary and Laura are intrigued and decide to investigate further.

As they delve deeper into the mystery, they discover that Angelica has a long and interesting history. They learn that it was once home to a notorious highwayman who was said to have hidden his loot somewhere on the property. This nugget of information leads Rosemary and Laura to believe that the killer might be looking for the treasure.

As Rosemary and Laura continue to investigate, they encounter more twists and turns in the case. They learn that Stuart's marriage is on the rocks, and that his wife Abigail is having an affair with another staff member. This new information adds another layer to the investigation.

With each new discovery, Rosemary and Laura get closer to solving the case. They unearth additional clues, and piece together a plausible motive for the murder. But it isn't until the final reveal, when all is laid bare and the truth is finally revealed, that the mystery surrounding Angelica comes to a satisfying conclusion.
