Ep 8. Fortune Cookie / Dear John

Rocko's Modern Life season 3 episode 8 consists of two segments, "Fortune Cookie" and "Dear John".

In the first segment, "Fortune Cookie", Rocko receives a fortune in his fortune cookie that says he is going to have a wonderful day. Excited by the prediction, he sets out to make the most of his day. The ice cream vendor teaches Rocko that the fortunes are simply a reminder to stay positive and hopeful, even in the face of adversity.

Feeling enlightened, Rocko decides to change his attitude and embrace the chaos of the day. He ultimately ends up having a wonderful time, proving that the fortune cookie was indeed correct all along.

The second segment, "Dear John", follows the antics of Heffer as he becomes obsessed with a home shopping network. After spending all of his money on useless products, Heffer decides to write a letter to the network's host, John. In the letter, Heffer expresses his admiration for John and requests an autographed picture.

To Heffer's surprise, John actually responds to his letter, sending him a personalized message on air and promising to meet him in person. Excited by the prospect of meeting his hero, Heffer sets out to find John's studio.

Meanwhile, Rocko and Filburt become suspicious of John's intentions and set out to uncover the truth about the home shopping network. Through a series of wacky misadventures, the trio discover that the network is actually a front for a group of aliens who are trying to take over the world.

In the end, Heffer finally meets John, but realizes that he was just a pawn in the aliens' plan. With the help of Rocko and Filburt, Heffer is able to thwart the aliens' scheme and save the world. The episode ends with Heffer realizing that true heroes can be found in everyday life, rather than on television.
