Build Finnegan's Dream Car is the sixth episode of the sixth season of Roadkill. In this episode, gearheads Freiburger and Finnegan team up once again to create the ultimate muscle car. Together, they have a dream to take a '57 Chevy and transform it into a land-speed car that can reach speeds of over 200 miles per hour.
To make the dream a reality, the guys have found an old rusty '57 Chevy that has been sitting idle and in need of some serious restoration for over 20 years. Finnegan immediately gets to work on fixing up the car while Freiburger sets out to find an engine that will help achieve their goal.
Finding the right engine turns out to be a real challenge as they are looking for an engine that can not only deliver power but also withstand the harsh demands of land-speed racing. After much searching, the team decides to go with a 427-cubic-inch LSX engine that delivers over 800 horsepower.
With their engine in hand, Finnegan and Freiburger get to work on the body of the Chevy. They strip it down to the bare bones and build it back up, making sure to add all the necessary components that will make the car suitable for land-speed racing. The car is then painted in an eye-catching shade of blue to complete the build.
Once the car is complete, Finnegan takes it out for a test drive to check its speed and stability. The car handles beautifully, and the team is optimistic that they have created a car that can reach their goal of top speeds of over 200 miles per hour.
With their finished car and high hopes, the team sets out on their journey to the legendary Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah, where they plan to make their land-speed racing debut in the car they have worked so hard to build.
Despite a few setbacks along the way, including engine issues and a mishap with the trailer transporting the car, the team remains determined. They finally make it to the Salt Flats, ready to attempt to break the land-speed record.
The moment of truth arrives, and Finnegan takes the car to the starting line. The car roars to life, and he races down the Salt Flats at a breakneck speed, with Freiburger cheering him on from the sidelines.
As they wait for the official speed record, the team can barely contain their excitement. When the final number is revealed, they are thrilled to discover that they have managed to break their goal and reach an incredible 203 miles per hour!
Filled with joy and pride, the team celebrates their achievement and sets their sights on future goals and projects. Building Finnegan's Dream Car showcases the incredible skill and determination of these two gearheads to create an amazing vehicle, and their quest for speed and power is sure to inspire any car enthusiast.
