Ep 1. Leaf Blower Monza

As the second season of Roadkill begins, hosts Mike Finnegan and David Freiburger are back in action with their latest automotive challenge. In episode one, "Leaf Blower Monza," the duo sets out to transform a 1975 Chevy Monza into a souped-up, high-performance machine.

The episode opens with Finnegan and Freiburger on the hunt for a new project car. After scouring the internet for potential candidates, they stumble upon a beat-up Monza that's been sitting in a driveway for the past 10 years. The car is covered in rust, the interior is a mess, and the engine barely runs, but Finnegan and Freiburger are undeterred. They see the potential in the Monza and decide to take it on as their latest challenge.

The first order of business is to get the Monza running. The engine is in rough shape, so they replace the carburetor, distributor, and ignition system. They also add a custom exhaust system to improve performance and give the Monza a more aggressive sound.

Next up is the interior. Finnegan and Freiburger rip out the old seats, dashboard, and carpeting and replace them with new components. They also add a roll cage for safety and paint the interior black for a sleek, modern look.

With the engine and interior sorted, it's time to focus on the exterior. Finnegan and Freiburger remove the Monza's old body panels and replace them with brand-new ones. They also add a custom hood and spoiler to improve aerodynamics. To finish off the look, they give the car a fresh coat of paint in a striking metallic green.

Now that the Monza looks and runs like a dream, it's time for Finnegan and Freiburger to put it to the test. They head out to a nearby drag strip to see how fast the car can go. With Freiburger behind the wheel, the Monza clocks an impressive quarter-mile time of just over 10 seconds.

But that's not enough for Finnegan and Freiburger. They want to push the Monza even further, so they install a leaf blower on top of the engine to increase the car's horsepower. The leaf blower is a risky move - it's never been done before on a drag strip - but Finnegan and Freiburger are confident they can make it work.

With the leaf blower installed, Freiburger takes the Monza back to the drag strip. The car roars down the track, leaving a trail of smoke and debris behind it. To the hosts' delight, the leaf blower does its job and the Monza hits speeds of over 160 mph.
