Rhoda season 2 episode 13, titled "A Night with the Girls," follows the show's titular character, Rhoda Morgenstern, as she plans a girls' night out with her friends. Rhoda is a 30-something single woman living in New York City, working as a window dresser while pursuing her dreams of becoming a fashion designer. The show is a spin-off of the popular sitcom, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and centers around Rhoda's personal and professional life.

In this episode, Rhoda is feeling down after a breakup and decides to plan a night out with her girlfriends to lift her spirits. She invites her best friend, Julie, as well as her co-workers, Brenda and Heather, to join her for dinner and a show. Rhoda is excited to have a fun night out with her friends and forget about her recent heartbreak.

The night doesn't go as smoothly as planned, however. Rhoda's friend Julie is going through a divorce and is feeling down herself. Heather and Brenda, who are both married with kids, are feeling out of place and uncomfortable in the city. As they make their way to the restaurant, they are all confronted by a group of rowdy construction workers who start catcalling and harassing them.

The group continues on to the show but finds that it isn't what they expected. The theater is small and smelly, and the performers are less than impressive. Heather, who is claustrophobic, begins to feel faint and has to leave the theater. The rest of the group decides to cut their losses and head home.

On the way back, they stop at a bar to have a nightcap and run into an old high school acquaintance of Rhoda's, who is now a successful lawyer. The group starts reminiscing about high school and their dreams for the future. Rhoda realizes that she has lost sight of her own dreams and decides to start pursuing her fashion career again.

Overall, "A Night with the Girls" is a relatable and heartwarming episode that explores the ups and downs of friendship and the importance of pursuing one's dreams. Rhoda and her friends experience setbacks and disappointments throughout the night but ultimately come together to support each other and uplift one another. The episode is a testament to the power of strong female friendships and the resilience of the human spirit.
