The episode begins with Jake Doyle (played by Allan Hawco) working at the pub, The Black Donnellys, after his car has been seized by the police. His father Malachy (played by Sean McGinley) comes to the pub and offers him a ride home. Once they arrive at the Doyle family home, they find a man sitting on their porch. The man, named Ronan Daly (played by Mark O'Brien), is an old acquaintance of Malachy's who has just been released from prison.
Jake and Ronan are immediately at odds with each other, but Malachy insists that they should work together to help Ronan start a new life. He suggests that Ronan should start working at The Black Donnellys, but Jake is hesitant to let anyone work there without proper qualifications. Despite Jake's reservations, Malachy hires Ronan to work at the pub.
Meanwhile, Des (played by Mark O'Brien) is trying to fix Jake's car but is having trouble getting the parts he needs. He enlists the help of Tinny (played by Marthe Bernard) to try and find the parts, but they quickly realize that the parts are expensive and difficult to come by. In an effort to find a way to pay for the parts, Des decides to sell some of his old belongings.
When Jake and Ronan go to collect the parts for the car, they come across some suspicious activity. They see a group of men loading a truck with stolen goods, and Jake realizes that they are the same group of men who have been stealing copper from power lines around the city. He decides to investigate further and enlists the help of Ronan, who has connections to the criminal underworld.
As Jake and Ronan get deeper into the case, they discover that the thefts are part of a larger operation involving organized crime. They also uncover a connection to a local politician, who is using the profits from the stolen copper to fund his election campaign.
As the investigation intensifies, Jake and Ronan find themselves in danger, and it is up to them to bring the criminals to justice before it is too late.
