In the Republic of Doyle season 4 episode 12, titled "Return of the Kingpin," the infamous drug lord Terrence Meyers is released from prison, and Jake Doyle finds himself once again caught up in the dangerous world of crime. Meyers was put away with Jake's help years ago, but now he's out and looking for revenge.
Against his better judgment, Jake agrees to help Meyers track down his former business partner, who he believes double-crossed him and hid his millions. However, it quickly becomes clear that Meyers has other ulterior motives, and Jake finds himself in the middle of a complex web of deceit and betrayal.
As if that weren't enough to deal with, Jake also has to navigate his complicated romantic relationships. He's still trying to win back his ex-wife, Nikki, but she's been avoiding him since he slept with her sister. Meanwhile, Leslie is pushing him to commit to their relationship, and Rose is trying to convince him of her newfound spiritual awareness.
As the episode unfolds, Jake and Meyers dig deeper into the mystery of the missing millions, and the stakes get higher and higher. They're pursued by dangerous criminals, and even the police are on their trail. Jake is forced to make some difficult decisions about who to trust, and ultimately he's forced to confront his own past mistakes and take responsibility for his actions.
