After the success of its first season, Reno 911! returned for a highly-anticipated second season. And in the very first episode, titled Dangle's Promotion, there's already plenty of hijinks and hilarious moments to keep fans coming back for more.
The episode opens with the entire Reno Sheriff's Department gathered around for the announcement of their new officers, including a few familiar faces from the previous season. But the real excitement comes when Lieutenant Jim Dangle (played by Thomas Lennon) receives a surprise promotion and is named the department's new sheriff.
With Dangle's new position comes plenty of perks, including a fancy new uniform, a portrait on the wall, and the power to boss around his fellow officers. But it's not long before his inflated ego begins to annoy everyone around him. Meanwhile, Deputy Travis Junior (played by Robert Ben Garant) is being stalked by a mysterious woman who claims to be his long-lost love.
As the episode progresses, the officers are forced to deal with several bizarre situations, including a man who has been attacked by a koala and a group of nudists who refuse to put on their clothes. Dangle's new position also puts him in the crosshairs of several local politicians who are eager to have a say in how the sheriff department is run.
Throughout it all, the show's trademark blend of cringe-worthy humor and absurd situations keeps viewers laughing. With its talented ensemble cast and sharp writing, Reno 911! continues to be one of the funniest and most irreverent shows on television.
Fans of the show will likely find plenty to love in this season premiere, which sets the stage for a wild and wacky new season. And for newcomers to the show, Dangle's Promotion is a great introduction to the show's unique brand of humor and offbeat characters. All in all, it's a must-watch for anyone who loves their comedy with a healthy dose of silliness.
