Remember Me is a British television drama that aired on PBS Masterpiece in 2014. This three-part miniseries is set in Yorkshire and follows the character of Tom Parfitt, a widower of advanced age who is prone to unpredictable behavior. He is played by the legendary Michael Palin, who famously starred in Monty Python's Flying Circus.

As the show begins, Parfitt is taken to the hospital after suffering a fall, and is disoriented and confused. He is initially unresponsive but eventually becomes lucid, though his behavior becomes increasingly erratic. He claims to see his dead wife Peggy and to be haunted by figures from his past, including a young girl and a soldier.

The series follows Parfitt's past and present as they gradually intertwine, revealing that he has a dark secret that he has kept hidden for many years. The series centers on the gradual unraveling of this mystery as well as the effect it has on those around him.

Mark Addy plays Rob Fairholme, a police sergeant who investigates a missing person's case that is tied to Parfitt. Jodie Comer, known for her work in Killing Eve, plays Hannah Ward, a care worker who becomes involved with Parfitt's case after being assigned to take care of him.

The show is expertly crafted, with a strong sense of mood and atmosphere. The camera work and editing are both top-notch, creating an eerie and haunting feeling that permeates throughout the series. The score is also excellent, with a mixture of slow, mournful pieces and more energetic tracks that build tension and intrigue.

Palin gives a standout performance as Parfitt. He expertly displays the character's confusion, fear, and regret, making him a complex and sympathetic figure despite his strange behavior. Addy and Comer are both also excellent in their roles, with Addy portraying a tough but compassionate police officer and Comer bringing a youthful energy to her scenes.

One of the strongest aspects of the show is its exploration of memory and loss. Both Parfitt and Ward are dealing with these issues in different ways, and the show uses them to explore the idea of what we leave behind after we die. The show is not afraid to dive into darker themes, including suicide and abuse, but it never feels gratuitous or overly bleak.

Overall, Remember Me is an excellent example of the Gothic mystery genre, with strong performances, excellent direction, and a powerful story. Fans of shows like Broadchurch and The Fall will find much to enjoy here. It is a slow-burning mystery that rewards patient viewers and delivers a satisfying conclusion.
