Remedy Me premiered in early March 2009. The finale date was in the end of May of the same year. Although the series is presented in an engaging and lighthearted manner, the content is serious. Throughout each episode, various individuals struggle to find solutions for help, with different conditions-- some seemingly more mundane, others perhaps considered by the afflicted to be of a more mortifying nature. Some of these chronic medical issues include things like headaches, bladder problems, and persistent flatulence. In order to manage each problematic issue, specific therapies and alternative medicines approaches are applied.
Each episode portrays the disorders and existences of two very different individuals, who have in common, the fact that their very lives have been seriously and negatively impacted by the specific profiled affliction. In every case, each of these people have tried everything they think of, in terms of conventional medicinal methods, and so, are ready to embark on a new journey, in order to experience some relief. They're all open to alternative and complementary therapies, and normally come to experience relief with such.
For instance, take the episode on hemorrhoids. Here, a man named Daniel attempts acupuncture and herbal tea concoctions for management. Another patient, Shannon, delves into homeopathic remedies, that is, those that contain elements or substances relating to the actual problem, as in vaccination. No clues here about just what turns out to work!
Other episodes explore topics like skin problems, Restless Legs Syndrome, and tooth grinding various headaches and possible remedies are scrutinized, as well as remedies to address Irritable Bowel Syndrome, PMS, excessive sweating, snoring, acne, and hair loss.
Some of the possible remedies for the different afflictions that are examined include the following: nutritional and supplemental modifications, chiropractic, osteopathic, acupuncture, Reiki, and massage therapies. Also, ayurvedic, holistic, naturopathic, and Chinese medicines, as well as lifestyle changes, and varying teas, tinctures, hot mustard oil poultices, are all attempted. Naturally, meditation qigong, and yoga are employed.
