Mordecai and Rigby are two best friends who work together as groundskeepers at a park. They are always on the lookout for ways to avoid working and get into trouble. In the episode "Replaced," a new employee is hired to work at the park.
The new employee, Thomas, is a perfect employee who is always on time, never slacks off, and completes his work with precision. Mordecai and Rigby, on the other hand, are lazy and often shirk their responsibilities. They see Thomas as a threat to their work habits and start to get jealous of him.
As the days go by, Thomas continues to impress their boss, Benson, with his hard work. Benson starts to prefer Thomas over Mordecai and Rigby. Meanwhile, Mordecai and Rigby feel left out and forgotten. They decide to take matters into their own hands and prove that they are just as valuable as Thomas.
Mordecai and Rigby try to show Benson that they are better employees than Thomas. They take on extra tasks and try to work harder than usual. However, no matter what they do, Thomas seems to do it better. Mordecai and Rigby feel like they are never going to be able to compete with Thomas.
As a last ditch effort, Mordecai and Rigby try to sabotage Thomas's work. They think that if they can get Thomas fired, Benson will realize that they are his best employees. However, their plan backfires and they end up getting in trouble instead.
Mordecai and Rigby realize that they were wrong to try and sabotage Thomas's work. They apologize and ask Benson for another chance. Benson decides to give them one more chance, but warns them that if they mess up again, they'll be fired.
Mordecai and Rigby work hard to redeem themselves and prove that they are just as good as Thomas. In the end, they succeed and Benson realizes that he has three great employees on his team.
"Replaced" is a great episode that explores themes of jealousy, hard work, and redemption. It showcases the importance of not giving up and working hard to achieve your goals. The episode is full of humor and heart, and is a great example of why Regular Show is such a beloved show.
