Mordecai and Rigby are always up for some adventure, but when Benson gives them the task of fixing a broken cart, they find themselves in over their heads. In the Regular Show season 3 episode 12, titled "Under the Hood," the duo must figure out how to repair the cart to avoid being fired from their job at the park.
As they take apart the cart to assess the damage, Mordecai and Rigby quickly realize that they have no idea what they're doing. They try their best to fix the issues, but each attempt just makes things worse. Meanwhile, Benson is getting increasingly frustrated with their lack of progress and threatens to fire them if they don't get it done soon.
Desperate for help, the two friends turn to their co-workers for advice. Muscle Man suggests using duct tape to patch up the cart, but Mordecai is skeptical. High Five Ghost suggests using a hammer, but that doesn't work either. Even Pops tries to offer some assistance, but his methods are too outlandish to be useful.
As the pressure mounts, Mordecai and Rigby start to crack. They begin to argue and blame each other for their predicament. It isn't until they work together, using their strengths to complement each other, that they are finally able to fix the cart and avoid getting fired.
In addition to the main plot, this episode also features a subplot involving Skips and his attempts to beat his high score on an old arcade game. His obsession with the game mirrors Mordecai and Rigby's obsession with fixing the cart, and the two stories intertwine nicely.
Overall, "Under the Hood" is a classic episode of Regular Show that showcases the show's unique brand of humor and offbeat storytelling. The characters are lovable and relatable, and the episode's theme of teamwork is a valuable lesson for audiences of all ages.
