Mordecai and Rigby, the two slackers, are back to their usual antics in the Really Real Wrestling episode of the second season of Regular Show. As the episode opens, they are seen goofing off at work as usual, and their boss Benson is not happy about it.
Benson assigns them to clean up the garbage, but the duo manages to find an old VHS tape which they are extremely excited about. The tape contains old wrestling footage from the 80s, and the two are thrilled to watch it instead of doing their work.
They soon realize how much they love wrestling and decide to create their own wrestling personas. Mordecai, who is the larger of the two, takes on the persona of the "Ultimate" Muscle Man and Rigby becomes his wrestling partner, known as "The Slammer." Their wrestling costumes are a gloriously awful mix of pool noodles, swim caps, and painted-on muscles.
As they are practicing their wrestling moves, Muscle Man and The Slammer are surprised to run into a real wrestling team. The team is on a mission to find a jobber, someone who exists to lose matches, and they think that the two goofballs fit the bill perfectly. Muscle Man and The Slammer, however, are not interested in losing, and bet the wrestling team their VHS tape of legendary wrestling matches that they will come out victorious.
The match begins, and our two heroes are not doing well at first. They are easily beaten by the experienced wrestling team and they soon realize that they are outmatched. The wrestling team's ring leader, however, is less than enthused about the match, and wants to make it more interesting. He announces that the wrestling ring is now surrounded by a pool of alligators, upping the stakes of the match considerably.
As the match continues, Muscle Man and The Slammer realize that they must use strategy to defeat their opponents. They develop a new plan and start to gain the upper hand. They are soon able to take down the wrestling team, much to the surprise of everyone watching. They win their bet and get to keep their precious VHS tape.
The Really Real Wrestling episode of Regular Show is a hilarious, tongue-in-cheek look at the world of professional wrestling. The show's usual mix of whimsy and absurdity are on full display, as Mordecai and Rigby take on their wrestling personas with gusto. Even if you're not a fan of professional wrestling, this episode is sure to make you laugh and have a great time.
