In the first episode of Record of Ragnarok season one, titled "Ragnarok," the fate of humanity is at stake as the gods convene to decide whether or not to destroy all of mankind.
The premise of the show is that every 1000 years, the gods hold a conference to determine whether humanity is worth saving or if they should be wiped out altogether. As it turns out, this time around the gods have decided that humans have become too insolent and have been causing too much destruction to the planet.
Legendary figures from human history, such as Buddha, Tesla, and Adam, gather together to plead their case before the gods. They argue that humanity has the capacity for greatness and can still make things right if given the chance. However, the gods are not easily swayed and seem intent on carrying out their plans for destruction.
That is until Brunhild, the leader of the Valkyries, steps forward with a proposal. She suggests that instead of simply wiping out humanity, they should hold a series of one-on-one battles between the gods and some of humanity's greatest warriors. If humanity wins 7 out of 13 battles, they will be spared. If they lose, they will be destroyed.
Thus begins the first battle, pitting the mighty Thor against a human warrior named Lu Bu. The two fighters face off in an epic battle, with Lu Bu wielding his halberd and Thor relying on his hammer, Mjolnir. The fight is intense and bloody, each combatant taking and dealing serious damage in turn.
As the fight progresses, the humans watching from the sidelines begin to lose hope. Lu Bu is clearly outmatched and they fear that this first defeat will set the tone for the rest of the battles. However, just when it seems that all is lost, Lu Bu experiences a transformation. He becomes more powerful, more focused, and more determined than ever before.
In the end, it's a close battle, but there can only be one victor. Will Thor emerge victorious, handing the gods their first win? Or will humanity prove that they have what it takes to fight back and secure their future?
Record of Ragnarok season one episode one is an engaging, action-packed start to an epic series. With well-drawn characters, intense battles, and a high-stakes conflict between gods and humans, it's easy to see why this show has garnered such a following. Fans of action anime and mythological stories alike will be drawn in by the adrenaline-fueled fights and the intrigue surrounding the fate of humanity.
