Ep 1. The Break-Up / Hypnotist

TJ Detweiler and his gang of friends at Third Street Elementary School are back for another season of adventures, mischief, and fun. In the premiere episode of Recess season 2, titled "The Break-Up / Hypnotist," the gang must navigate the ups and downs of friendship and the mysterious power of hypnosis.

The episode opens with TJ and his best friend, Vince, taking part in their favorite recess game: basketball. They're the best players on the court, and they know it. But when a new kid named Hustler Kid arrives and challenges them to a game, they're in for a shock. Hustler Kid is even better than they are, and he beats them soundly. TJ and Vince are devastated. They've never been beaten at their own game before.

Meanwhile, Gretchen and Spinelli are having problems of their own. They've been best friends for years, but lately, they've been growing apart. They can't seem to agree on anything, and they're always arguing. Things finally come to a head when they both want to take a different route to class. They decide to end their friendship.

But when TJ realizes that Hustler Kid has a secret weapon – a hypnotist named Gelman who helps him win his games – he knows what he has to do. He enlists the help of his friends to find a way to break up Hustler Kid and Gelman's partnership.

The gang decides to stage a fake basketball game to lure Hustler Kid and Gelman into a trap. They'll use Spinelli, who's an amazing basketball player, to beat them. But first, they need to get Gelman on their side. They decide to hypnotize him so he'll think he's a good guy who wants to help them.

Meanwhile, Gretchen and Spinelli start to regret their decision to end their friendship. They realize that they're better off together than apart. They reconcile and apologize for their behavior.

The plan to break up Hustler Kid and Gelman's team seems to be working – Gelman is on their side now, and they're ready for the big game. But things don't go as planned. Hustler Kid reveals that he knew all along that Gelman was hypnotized, and he's been using him to win. He unleashes Gelman's true personality, and he's not the nice guy they thought he was.

The gang manages to stop Gelman before he can do any real harm, and they all learn a valuable lesson about the dangers of hypnosis and the importance of true friendship.

In the end, TJ and Vince realize that it's okay to lose once in a while. It's not always about winning – it's about having fun and playing the game. Gretchen and Spinelli make up for good, and the gang is stronger than ever. They may not have won the basketball game, but they've gained something much more valuable – each other.
