In season 5 episode 2 of Reba, titled "Reba and The One," the viewers are taken on a rollercoaster of emotions. Meanwhile, her youngest daughter, Kyra (played by Scarlett Pomers), is still trying to cope with the fact that her father has left their family.
As Reba tries to come to terms with the situation, she confides in her best friend and neighbor, Barbara Jean (played by Melissa Peterman). Barbara Jean suggests that Reba should try to meet someone new to help her move on from Brock. Reba is hesitant at first, but eventually agrees to go on a blind date that Barbara Jean sets up for her.
The blind date turns out to be a disaster, but Reba decides to give dating another try. She goes on a second date with a man named Terry (played by Leslie Jordan), who she met at church. Terry is quirky and slightly eccentric, but Reba finds herself drawn to him.
Meanwhile, Kyra is still struggling with her feelings about her father's absence. She confides in her sister, Cheyenne (played by JoAnna Garcia Swisher), about her confusion and anger. Cheyenne tries to help Kyra come to terms with the situation, but Kyra is hesitant to let go of her anger.
As Reba continues to see Terry, she begins to realize that she may have feelings for him. However, when he reveals a secret about his past, Reba is forced to reevaluate their relationship.
