Now, in season 2 episode 2, titled "The Return of Quaid," Rapunzel and her friends are faced with a new challenge. When the queen receives a message from an old friend, they must travel to the neighboring kingdom of Corinthia to investigate. The friend, a man named Quaid, has been imprisoned by the king of Corinthia under mysterious circumstances.
Rapunzel, Eugene, and the rest of the gang arrive in Corinthia to find that the kingdom is in a much different state than they remember. The people are oppressed and living in poverty, and there is a strange magical barrier around the castle. They soon discover that the king of Corinthia has been using dark magic to maintain his power, and Quaid is not the only one he has imprisoned.
As Rapunzel and her friends dig deeper, they find that the king's obsession with power has led him to make a deal with an ancient and dangerous force. In order to defeat him and free their friend, they must find a way to break through the magical barrier and stop the king's dark magic for good.
