In Raising Hope season 4 episode 7, entitled "Murder, She Hoped," the Chance family finds themselves in the middle of a murder investigation. When a dead body is found on the property next door, Burt (Garret Dillahunt) and Virginia (Martha Plimpton) become convinced that their neighbor is the killer. They begin to suspect that something is not right when the neighbor's alibi doesn't add up and they start to find clues that suggest he might be guilty. Meanwhile, Hope's (Baylie and Rylie Cregut) pet duck becomes the prime suspect in the case after it is found with feathers in its mouth, leading everyone to believe that the duck is the killer's accomplice.
As the investigation unfolds and tensions rise, the Chance family must work together to clear their neighbor's name and find the real killer. To do so, they enlist the help of an unlikely ally - their neighbor's mother, who helps them gather evidence and piece together clues.
