Race to Survive: Alaska is an exciting new survival competition series that premiered on Peacock in 2023. Set against the harsh and unforgiving Alaskan wilderness, the show features twelve teams of two as they battle the elements and each other in a race across Alaska’s rugged terrain for a $500,000 grand prize.

From the creators of the hit series Running Wild with Bear Grylls, Race to Survive: Alaska combines the adventure of an expedition race with the intensity of survival situations. Each leg of the race presents new challenges that test the teams’ endurance, navigation skills, and ability to adapt in extreme environments. Teams face everything from steep mountain climbs to untamed rivers as they make their way through remote corners of Alaska that few people ever experience.

Along the way, teams must rely on their wilderness skills to find food, build shelters, and avoid deadly predators like bears, wolves, and moose. Without modern amenities and conveniences, the competitors are completely exposed to the raw power of nature. Freak storms, hypothermia, injuries, and exhaustion all become very real threats. The race quickly becomes a battle of willpower as teams push themselves to the limit while fighting to remain in the competition.

Guiding and monitoring the teams every step of the way is expert survivalist Bear Grylls. As the face of the show, Bear provides advice and shares crucial survival techniques with the teams. However, it is up to each team to put Bear’s teachings into practice when an emergency strikes. Viewers will be on the edge of their seats as the teams make critical, and possibly fatal, decisions under the high-stress circumstances.

The diversity of the landscape, weather, and wildlife makes every leg of the competition unique and demanding in new ways. From paddling Class V whitewater rapids to traversing slippery glaciers, Race to Survive: Alaska will keep viewers guessing where the teams will be tested next. Along with the stunning visual backdrop, the show captures the infectious spirit of adventure that comes from journeying across Alaska first-hand.

In the end, the team that best combines athletic ability, wilderness know-how, perseverance, and teamwork will ultimately prevail with the $500,000 prize. But perhaps more importantly, they will have proven themselves capable of overcoming immense challenges in one of the harshest environments on Earth. Race to Survive: Alaska is a breathtaking test of skill and a raw look at the human drive to survive against all odds.

Race to Survive: Alaska is a series that ran for 2 seasons (20 episodes) between April 3, 2023 and on Peacock Premium
