It is a beautiful day on Puffin Rock, and Oona and Baba are excited about their upcoming adventure. They have been given a challenge to find the elusive owls that live in the woods. The sisters set out on their hike, excited to see what they can discover.
As they make their way through the forest, they see all sorts of animals and birds along the way. They spot a family of rabbits, a curious fox, and even a herd of deer grazing in a meadow. Oona and Baba are careful not to disturb the other creatures as they continue on their quest.
Finally, they hear a distant hooting sound, and they know that they are getting closer to the owls. They follow the sound deeper into the woods, and soon they see a group of trees that look different from the others. These trees have holes in their trunks, which Baba recognizes as the perfect place for owls to nest.
The sisters are thrilled to have found the home of the owls, but they know that they must be quiet if they want to see them. They approach the trees slowly and carefully, trying not to make a sound. They peek into one of the holes and see a fluffy white owl sitting inside, looking around with big, curious eyes.
Oona and Baba stay still, watching the owl for several minutes. They are so entranced by the beauty of the bird that they almost forget the task at hand. But then they remember that they need to find more owls to complete their challenge.
They search the trees carefully, looking for signs of other owls. They notice that some of the holes have feathers outside of them, and they know that those must be the homes of other owls. They take turns peeking inside each hole, and before long, they have found a total of seven owls! They are thrilled to have completed their challenge and to have seen so many beautiful birds.
As they make their way back through the forest, Oona and Baba reflect on all that they have seen. They realize that the woods are full of wonders and that there is always something new to discover. They feel grateful for the opportunity to explore their home and to learn more about the creatures that live there.
When they reach home, they excitedly tell their parents about their adventure. Their parents are proud of them for finding the owls and for being such curious and responsible explorers. They remind Oona and Baba that the beauty of nature is something to be cherished and protected, and they encourage them to continue exploring and learning about the world around them.
With their hearts full of wonder and joy, Oona and Baba settle in for a cozy evening at home. They feel grateful for the love and support of their family and for the adventure that they shared. As they drift off to sleep, they dream of new challenges and exciting discoveries that await them in the future.
