Ep 11. Silky's Seahorses / Keeping Cosy / Baba's Picnic

Puffin Rock season 1 episode 11 is a combination of three short stories. The first one is called Silky's Seahorses which kicks off with Baba telling her little ones about a friend of hers named Silky who she runs into while out foraging. Silky is overjoyed and excited to show Baba her seahorses while Baba can't wait to introduce her children to her friend. Along they way they encounter obstacles, including a group of seagulls who roughly chide them. However, Baba's children turn out to be an unexpectedly helpful group in helping Silky and Baba reach Silky's seahorses. In the end, Baba makes peace with the seagulls, and everyone ends up learning something new.

The second story is called Keeping Cosy which is centered around a raging storm that hits the island, sending Old Tom's branches falling and filling the Puffins' burrow with cold wind and rain. Oona and Baba are frantic and try to keep everyone warm, but Puffin family aren't pleased with their choices of bedding. Ultimately, it's Holly who figures out a way to make a nest that not only pleases everyone but keeps them warm and comfortable as well. Even Old Tom comes up with a solution. As the storm rages outside, the Puffins snuggle up and fall asleep together.

The third story is called Baba's Picnic which starts with Baba and Oona setting out on a picnic adventure. Baba has packed all kinds of goodies, including berries and jam. However, when they come across a group of crabs gorging themselves on their spread they are left without a single bite to eat. To make matters worse, Baba has brought along the wrong map so they can't go home. As they continue through the day they slowly realize that the best part of the picnic is their time together. By the end of the day, Baba and Oona return to their burrow exhausted, but with full hearts.

Overall, Season 1 Episode 11 of Puffin Rock is a delightful trio of stories that emphasizes the importance of friendship, kindness, and resourcefulness. Baba, Oona, Holly, and the rest of the Puffins show children the importance of persistence, creativity, and working together to overcome obstacles.
