In Psych season 7 episode 5 entitled "100 Clues," Shawn and Gus are invited to a party hosted by their favorite childhood game show host, Wade Boggs. Upon arrival, they discover that they are not the only guests in attendance, as they are joined by several other players from the popular game show "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous."
As the night wears on and old rivalries are reignited, one of the guests is found dead, and it soon becomes apparent that foul play is involved. The police are called in to investigate, but Shawn and Gus can't resist the chance to solve another crime and begin to conduct their own investigation.
In true "Clue" style, the episode takes on a murder mystery theme, with the various guests acting as suspects and Shawn and Gus attempting to piece together the clues to identify the killer. The episode features a number of clever nods to the classic boardgame, including secret passages, hidden rooms, and a variety of suspicious weapons.
As the investigation unfolds, Shawn and Gus begin to unravel a web of deceit and betrayal, with each of the guests having their own secrets and motives. Along the way, they encounter a number of quirky characters, including a reclusive billionaire, a washed-up actor, and a dim-witted personal assistant.
The episode is filled with the usual quips, one-liners, and pop culture references that have become a hallmark of the show. In addition, there are a number of fun guest appearances, including Martin Mull as game show host Wade Boggs, and several of the original cast members from the movie "Clue."
Overall, "100 Clues" is a fun, lighthearted episode of Psych that is sure to delight fans of both the show and the classic boardgame. With its clever writing, excellent performances, and playful homage to the murder mystery genre, it is a must-see installment in the series.
