In Psych season 7 episode 14 titled "No Trout About It", Shawn and Gus are back on the case after a brief hiatus. The episode opens with the detectives meeting with Lassiter, who has just been promoted to Chief of Police. He's digging through his new office when he comes across a mysterious package with his name on it. Inside, he finds a dead trout – a classic mobster message meaning death.
As it turns out, Lassiter's old partner, Trout, has been released from prison and is out for revenge against all those who put him behind bars. Lassiter, Shawn, and Gus team up with Trout's old partner, Chick, to try and take him down before he can get to them.
The team begins their investigation by trying to track down Trout's whereabouts. They find out that he's been on the phone with a local business owner, Mr. Yang, who owes him a debt. Lassiter and Trout head to Yang's shop to confront him, but it turns out that Yang has already been murdered.
The detectives are thrown for a loop when they find out that Chick is actually working with Trout. Chick explains that he's been working undercover for the past 15 years to gather evidence against Trout and that Lassiter was in danger of blowing his cover. Chick agrees to help bring Trout down once and for all.
With Chick's help, the team is able to track down Trout's location. They storm his hideout, but he's not there. Meanwhile, Lassiter is in danger when Trout tracks him down at his wife's pottery studio. Shawn and Gus arrive just in time to help Lassiter fend off Trout's attack.
In the end, Trout is taken back into custody and Lassiter is able to finally close the book on his old partner. The team celebrates their victory with a night out at their favorite karaoke bar.
Overall, "No Trout About It" is a thrilling episode that keeps the audience on the edge of their seats. The plot twists and turns keep things interesting, and the chemistry between the characters is as strong as ever. Fans of the show will not be disappointed with this exciting installment.
