In Psych season 6 episode 14, titled "Autopsy Turvy," Shawn and Gus are hired by Chief Vick to investigate the sudden death of a beloved member of the SBPD, Jerry Carp. The death is ruled a heart attack, but Chief Vick has her doubts and wants the duo to look into the matter further.
Shawn and Gus start their investigation at the morgue and meet Jerry's daughter, who is adamant that her father was in perfect health. They begin to doubt the heart attack theory as well after examining Jerry's body and noticing some inconsistencies. They also discover that Jerry had been a bit of a hypochondriac and had visited numerous doctors before his death.
As they continue to dig deeper, they run into some strange characters and dead ends, including a paranoid doctor who seems to be hiding something, a psychic medium who claims to have spoken with Jerry after his death, and a group of Jerry's coworkers who are all acting suspiciously.
Meanwhile, Lassiter is going through some personal issues after breaking up with his girlfriend and turns to alcohol to cope. Juliet attempts to help him, but Lassiter continues to spiral out of control.
Back on the case, Shawn and Gus finally piece together what happened to Jerry and why he died. Along the way, they also manage to uncover a larger conspiracy involving some of Jerry's coworkers and their nefarious dealings.
In the end, justice is served, and Lassiter begins to come to terms with his issues and takes steps towards recovery. The episode wraps up with Shawn and Gus reconciling after a brief argument and sharing a touching moment together.
